California – Day 1 through Day 4
californiaDanny’s ride is taking a very southern route across the country. This means that they left from San Diego, CA and went across mountains and desert. This is a map of their whole trip showing how far they have come. It doesn’t look like they have gone very far, does it? In fact they have already ridden 215 miles!

Today they go into their second state!  They begin their ride in Blythe, California, which was named for a gold prospector named Thomas Blythe and end today’s journey in Salome, Arizona. Blythe has an elevation of 272 feet and Salome has an elevation of 1,873 feet. So even though they are riding about 60 miles today, they are also going up, up, up! If you have ever ridden a bike on a hill, you know how hard that is. Imagine how hard it will be for Danny and Drew in the hot desert sun!

Blythe, CA

  • High Temp: 85
  • Low Temp: 58
  • Humidity: 18%
  • Elevation: 272 ft

Salome, AZ

  • High Temp: 81
  • Low Temp: 52
