We are tracking your progress and reading the blog daily. Be careful and take care of yourselves. Anne and Robert Morris (Ken’s brother-in-law)
I just wanted to ask y’all to keep my great-great-aunt in your prayers. She was diagnosed with breast cancer over a year ago, and the cancer has spread throughout her body. She had come at peace with her decision not to go through with treatment due to her old age and congestive heart condition.
PS: I just wanted to let you know the spring concert went very well, even though it wasn’t quite the same without you. You are missed!
Safe travels & God Bless!
Thinking about you and hoping the Dr. Pepper doesn’t slow you down too much!
I just updated the route page to catch you up. Sorry for the delay. Let me know what the upcoming itinerary is as soon as you can.
Jim
Hello Danny & Drew,
I am from Meridian, TX. You stopped for a minute in front of the medical clinic I work for and I noticed your RV. I logged on and WOW! What an inspiration you guys are. I wish you the best of luck and will pray for you every day. Wish I would have got to meet you. Just know that you are doing a wonderful thing and I know you will meet your goal. Good Luck with everything!! Thank you for what you are DOING!

Hey Danny, Drew, and Ken!
I hope that you find you stay in Dublin to be relaxing. Make sure and have a Dublin Dr. Pepper. They are different there than anywhere in the world .. check it out! Between Dublin and Hillsboro you should see some beautiful country. There is a Super 8 in back of the outlet mall in Hillsboro that has had really good rates in the past. They also have an indoor pool that can be quite relaxing after a long days ride. Please let me know which direction you are coming into Fort Worth from and I’ll check out the places the stay. Can’t wait to treat you all to dinner! Make sure to come hungry!!
God Bless you guys. I know you will raise all the money and then some. I lost my mom to cancer 6 years ago. I will put you and all who are traveling with you in my prayers for a safe journey.
Danny,Drew and Ken too,
Seeing everyone back on the road together again makes my day!
Danny for the last two days in a row I have arrived at work to see the same girl reading the book I gave her (via you) before starting her day.How awesome is that!Have a beautiful blessed day.
Thank you to those following our trip. It is such an inspiration to get all of your comments and know that we are making a difference.
Drew, your flat changing time is getting pretty fast… I hope that you don’t have a bunch more practice with it! Hopefully the roads to come will be a bit more friendly to your bike. You’re gonna have to teach me how to change it when you get back (I usually just take mine in to the bike shop
)
You both are amazing, keep up the hard work, good luck and stay safe.
You are getting closer!! Please let me know your next stop after Abilene? I’d like to see where is the closest to meet up.
Danny …looks like you were back to the bike already! Make sure to stay safe. The good news is our weather is acting very mild right now so that is a GREAT thing for you guys. Weekend they are predicted some possible showers.
Stay save all of you!!
Hey guys,
Hope all is going well today. Sorry to hear about the hospitol. I will tell Jo and you will be in our prayers. Drew: What’s going on with the tires? Where’d you learn to ride…Golds Gym? O’yeah, that’s right you did..oops. Take Care.
John
Dad, I may have some help with a tv station in Tuscaloosa, AL. I’m waiting on a phone call or email from WVUA TV. I’ll let you know when I do. Are you all calling ahead to media or doing it when you get there?
Danny,Drew and Ken
Great news that you are back on the road! Take it easy…
and know that you have lots of people praying for you and cheering you on. Drew..congrats on the two interviews!! Danny has taught you well.
Hi, my favorite (only-ha!) brother, Drew and Ken: Omigosh, are you guys incredible! So that we could keep up with what’s going on, Nikki left her wonderful laptop at the house. Her fiancee, Patrick (guru), rigged up another for her use while we are using her laptop. Danny, mama has fallen in love with the Internet! At age 96, she really enjoys “clicking” on the keyboard, maximizing pictures, etc. I’m back in Fayetteville this week, but I read your great blogs, Drew, to her on the phone from my computer every day, along with the so very interesting emails. She gets excited when I tell her there are more emails. She is so very proud of all of you, as I am, and as everyone else is. You’re doing something that seems impossible to almost everyone, and you are doing it so very well. I think many more people than you realize are living vicariously through you. What a great adventure! Ken, I guess you feel you have been driving that RV for at least a million miles by now! I’m in complete awe of you-a regular size van is something I prefer NOT to drive.
Another thing, as mentioned much earlier by someone else, Subway should really do a commercial on you guys! What great free publicity you are giving them! Also, the two episodes with that same Dish network guy earlier in the trip would be a fantastic commercial! Drew, PLEASE send some of that to Subway and the “Dish” people. After all, you obviously have nothing else to do (HA!) and I understand you are also looking for a job….
I’ll be back in Charleston next week and will probably stay there until you all arrive back in the Lowcountry. Just remember that your “mission” is touching so many lives, encouraging so many and “spreading the word” regarding early detection. God bless and keep all of you safe, well and receiving much joy from the wonderful works you are doing. Love, “Patsy”
Great interview with you guys today! Really enjoyed hearing your motivational story. Should run on our news on Tuesday May 19. Check out cbs7.com or feel free to call our news room at 432-580-6397.
Good luck on your journey!

Hi Danny,
We and many of our friends have been praying so hard for you. I’m so, so happy to know that you all are “on the road again” and that you are going to be a little more conservative in your riding. Thanks be to God for the doctors and all the people who have supported you so far, but especially for Drew and Ken. What Godly men they are! And you are such an amazing example of what our faith should look like. Continue to take good care. We’ll be in touch.
Marsha and Dave
Great to keep up with your news and find that Danny is doing so well. Drew, there may be a future for you in bike shop ownership!! You will know EVERYTHING about them by the time this trip is over! Iwas just reading about electric bikes in the paper this a.m. Might sound good about now! Anyway, they are good for those of us who don’t want to work up a sweat on the way to work, and still save energy.
We’re keeping you in our prayers. Continue to enjoy the day! Love, Auntie
I’m still looking forward to seeing you guys!! … just trying to figure out when. Danny – don’t forget that God never puts something in your path that you cannot handle. This has only been a bump in the road. I’m so proud that Drew kept riding for the both of you. Just think Drew you never believed that you were capable of doing this as you were not a “trained” bike rider and now you are riding for the both of you!! If you are staying on I-20 are you changing up your route a bit through Dallas-Fort Worth area? Please let me know … I’d like to treat you all to a nice dinner somewhere!! Keep pedalin’ .. God’s speed!!
Danny, Just wanted to write a quick little note to thank you for your e-mail! It was so great to hear that you are well and will be back on the road again changing lives one gas station at at a time
Drew, thank you for keeping us updated.I loved the slide show! Ken keep telling your jokes!
Hi Drew, Your mom wants to say this to you but doesn’t know how. I will say it for her….Drew, Stop breaking the bike. You have to return home, and you have to get a job. ha ha. Keep the endless days of summer forever in your memories. You truly have been blessed with experiences and challenges that have not only made you stronger and wiser but have inspired all of us to be a little more caring and less selfish towards everyone one we cross paths with. Tell your mom and dad thanks they raised a great son.
Hi Danny,
May you continue your journey wrapped in the protection of Gods angels…By his stripes we are healed.
It is great to hear that you are well and ready to ride again. I suppose that someone in the hospital needed some monumental inspiration and that is why God had you make a stop there.
Have a great day!!!!
Drew,
Every time you get a flat time, I smile.
Danny,
Get well soon!
See you guys in a few days.
Danny and Drew, and Ken too,
We are wishing you the best over the days ahead. May the winds slow or start pushing you forward.
Melissa and Gary
Gary says. “golly they’ll think they’ve spent their whole life in TX.” Keep biking and fixin’ flat tires, Drew! You 3 are sure pumping up enthusiasm and awareness for an important cause! We love reading your posts & twitters. Keep up your good work
Hey!Hey! Good to hear from you Danny. I know you are excited to be back on the road. I know you are strong willed, determined and even a little hard headed! Listen to your body. No need to push yourself past the limit. You all are amazing and an inspiration to all who know you! You are doing a great thing and the Lord will bless you!

We’re all praying for you guys back home – keep up the great work! Thank you for all that you are doing in your fight against cancer. We are all so proud and can’t wait to meet you at the finish line!

Maralee and Jason
Hi Danny!
My daughter Kimberly, her friend Kaylee and I met you at the Continental Divide, at a gift shop, on our way to Georgia (by way of Van Horn, TX), and you took time out of your day to tell us your story. We were touched by it, and have told so many people. We do have pictures that we got on our camera and would love to send to you. I am so sorry that you were in the hospital. Our prayers and love go with you on this trip. Ride safely, and may God continue to bless you on your journey!
Danny and Drew! Congratulations on your ride so far! You are a true inspiration and we greatly appreciate your dedication and commitment to the cure of cancer! Great people like you can do great things for the world! Good luck on the rest of your ride. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers as you continue your journey. We will help by spreading the word of your journey so you can reach your goal and hopefully, beyond. – Mike and Beth Reckman, Bettendorf, Iowa
Drew Gary said OF COURSE he knew Ken Skipper and you certainly have a reliable back-up man since he is driving the truck. What a good guy–tell him Gary said “play the trumpet!” Be safe on this journey and wonderful adventure. Small world! Gary
Hi! I am a friend of Brett. We had the great pleasure of meeting Brett at UI while my younger son was recovering from brain surgery.
He sent me this link, and all I can say is that the entire Wessels family is truly blessed.
Have safe travel- good luck.
My older son, who we just found out does not have lymphoma is participating in Relay for life tomorrow- we will light a candle for Danny.

Danny and Drew,
I have been keeping up with your ride and experiences everyday. I have to admit that I am a little jealous. It sounds like you are having the experience of a lifetime. The stories you share of the people you meet give me confidence that there are more good people in this world than we think. I am very happy for you both and you and your safety are always in my prayers. Keep up the great work. I know that you will finish this cross country adventure successfully. Danny, I do not know you personally, but you sound like a great person and I only wish the best for you. Keep your chin up and get back on that bike.
Greetings Danny and nephew, Drew! WOW your website is fantastic, though not as much so as the two of you and your undertaking!!
If I’m reading correctly Danny is having tests. Our prayers will include you both and will keep up with your news. Take care and Godspeed! Laurie
Danny,
I’m praying overtime for you tomorrow morning and I’ve added you to our prayer list at church.
