Drew

About Me:
I graduated from Augustana College in 2007 with a major in Business Administration and concentrations in Management, Marketing, Management Information Systems.  I then attended The Citadel Graduate School in Charleston, South Carolina and finished in December of 2008 with a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

Taking a class taught by Mike Veeck (Google his name, its worth it) and this trip have been the best learning experiences of my life.  It is funny how you can look back and see how things align.  I didn’t find out about Mike’s class until the night before and begged Mike to let me in.  Everything Mike taught us in his class, has been put to use in this trip.  Thanks Mike.

I was laid off a month before we left for this trip.  So, when I return I will be job hunting.  If you know someone who might be interested in me, feel free to contact me.  I’d appreciate it but that’s not the purpose of this trip.

In Honor Of:

I am doing this trip in honor of my grandfather Hugh Tinley (known to some as K0GHK – Ham Radio).  He passed away in 2006 from melanoma.  At the time of his passing, he was the last surviving member to witness the German surrender in World War II.  He was a walking history book, an amazing person and a great teacher.  Thanks grandpa.  This one’s for you.

My participation in Danny’s Ride is also in honor of Mike Webber.  Through him, I watched as close as I ever hope to, the devestation cancer can cause not only to an individual but to family and friends.  You are certainly missed each day.

Special Thank You:

I want to thank the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for all of the money they spend on cancer research.  Advances from their research have saved countless lives and reduced or eliminated suffering in thousands of patients.  I also want to thank the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for giving me an opportunity of a lifetime in going across country to raise money for cancer research.  I hope I can give you at least half of what this trip has given me.

Danny – Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to share your story.  I look up to you, respect you and admire you for everything you have accomplished in your life.  I couldn’t be more proud to be on this trip with you.

Thank you to my mom and dad – Pete and Jackie.  Your support means the world to me.  I don’t know what I did to have such lucky parents but every day I am grateful.  Peter, I have appreciated your constant texts to make sure I made it through the day safely and to Brett who occasionally posts on Danny’s Wall hurtful things about my basketball career.  It makes me smile every time.  See you guys in June.
